Olympus viewer 3 albums wrong years3/7/2023 ![]() I found this technology changeling at times because some tools I wasn't used to as the software has changed from last year. Karen-Green edited this topic 108 months ago. This was one of the main technologies I used when it came to constructing my media products. After playing with windows 8 for a couple of hours - seriously not impressed! I purchased a laptop i5 with windows 7 in the Jan sales with no intention of upgrading to 8 anytime in the future, for the time being, sounds like I made the right choice avoiding a "Beta Experience" -) I was in the market for buying a new windows laptop for myself this year. My neighbour brought her new windows 8 laptop round last year to see if I could help figure out how to get her emails. Oh, and those solutions are not "Buy another system!" lol So far, I can't get it to let loose of anything it can find a way to control. I wish it to the depths of the deepest sea.but I need it to run this laptop, so I have to work around things. Not working on this Windows 8.1 PC though. I can then add to an existing album in OV3 by importing to a "new" album of the same name and using drag and drop to merge the two albums into one. Update to say that I've installed OV3 on a Windows 7 PC and it does seem to be allowing me to import pictures to a new album. Today, for example, I took a few shots on the E-420 but it seems I have no way of adding them to the album "E-420 2013" using Olympus Viewer 3. It seems a shame that I cannot continue to import to existing albums. Under 'copy to' or 'move to' I can set and name the folder. It's faster and better than XP's Explorer and OV2/3. I also use XnView to move the photos from memory cards. I think we can choose the folder destionation using "import images from specified location", but cannot name the subfolder unless using check the 'create subfolder with shooting date automatically' CMMIWĪlthough we can batch rename the photos under the import's advanced settings Maybe you ccan try uncheck the "delete files after transfer" option? I always delete the files/format the card manually.Īs far as I know, we can't set a specified name for a subfolder in Olympus Viewer. I don't have such error using both option "import from camera' and 'import from specified location' with a card reader on XP. Sorry if I'm mistakenly understanding you Under "Recent Action" in Library View, nothing is shown under "Last Import". Nothing changes in the albums in Library View. Some kind of activity occurs and a progress bar is displayed but I don't know where the images are going, if any are being moved or copied at all. Importing from there, though, using "Import Images from a Specified Location" does not even give the option to set up and name an album. No problems manually copying the files to a Windows folder in Windows Explorer. In the Pictures folder in Windows Explorer, I now have an "OLYMPUS Viewer 3" folder with 6 sub-folders with names formatted "2013_MM_DD" but I cannot find an option in OV3 that lets me choose a naming convention when importing files. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling (and updating) OV3 and also restarted the PC but these actions have not solved the problem. Windows 8.1 PC and Olympus Viewer 3, Version 1.2. Files are ORF and jpeg and are on a CF card. Would welcome any suggestions on how to get around this. The error occurs when I choose "Import selected image(s)" and when I click on "Import all images". I'm in Library View, I have selected "Album Name", entered a title in the field and left the "Use shooting date as album name", "Delete Files in Camera (Media) automatically after Transfer", and "Omit photos already imported" boxes unchecked. I've been trying to "Import Images from Camera" this evening (card in a card reader) and though I can view and select the images I want to import, I go on to get the above error message every time. After installing Olympus Viewer 3 earlier this year I was able to retain the album structures from Olympus Master 2. ![]()
